exausth jcw pro vs remus

  • Hello, I need your help, I want to buy a second-hand exausth jcw pro, I wanted to know if it can be reassigned to my rack in any way since each exausth is assigned to a rack by BMW when I buy it new, and I need to approve in Spain and not having problems, can you help me with this?

Which is better JCW PRO or REMUS? which one sounds the most?

    thanks advanced.

  • I've recently installed a Remus exhaust on my F56 JCW + Milltek de-cat Downpipe, it sounds absolutely mental when open. It does, however, rasp a little bit when 100% opened. The exhaust itself is legal and should not give you any problems because it has an European certification (the Sound Controller does not, but the exhaust does). The de-cat downpipe is not legal, but nobody would care about it where I live.

If you are looking for a lot of sound and pops and bangs, you'd be better off with a de-cat downpipe. That isn't legal though and you can't control the sound. You'd have to drive with a loud car 24/7, which in my opinion is not really ideal.

I have no experience with a JCW Pro, but I'd imagine that this sounds great aswel. The JCW Pro does not give you the option to open the exhaust a bit, it has to be either open or closed.

Therefore, I'd say you are better off with a Remus if you want it to be approved in Spain and not have any problems with neighbours and police etc.
You should, however, go to a MINI meeting and just hear what the difference between the two really is.

  • I do not have the opportunity to listen to remus vs jcw pro, only videos that are not well appreciated because in some remus it sounds more and in others less ... it seems that there are two versions with valves ... JCW PRO sounds really good in videos and with open valve is very noisy and many pops as I want! so I'm afraid that remus with closed valve will be very noisy and with open valve less noisy and less pops than with JCW PRO

  • Even though I’ve got mine decatted, it still does not produce more sound than a standard JCW (not pro) exhaust when closed.

But, either way, they are both amazing exhausts, which would not disappoint you.

  • A pesar de que tengo el mío decatizado, todavía no produce más sonido que un escape JCW estándar (no profesional) cuando está cerrado.

Pero, de cualquier manera, ambos son gases de escape increíbles, que no te decepcionarán.

I'm a little afraid of being wrong, especially since the price is too high on JCW PRO € 2000 or more, remus around € 1200 ... But remus I watch videos and it doesn't seem to fill my ears ... JCW PRO yes, it is more outrageous with the valve open and quieter with the valve closed, which is what I'm looking for, remus is outrageous with the valve closed and quiet with the valve open ...

Whether Remus or JCW Pro is a question of faith.

Personally, I like the sound of the Remus when it's standing quite well, it's nice and powerful in sound.
When driving normally with the flap open, I find the Remus partly very bright (tinny).

The JCW Pro is also louder than the standard model with the flap closed when stationary, but it's really pleasant when driving normally.
Here, however, with closed flap in Sport Mode, the plop sounds tinny and bright.
Open, on the other hand, it is already sensational and sounds powerful and sporty in all situations.

The advantage of the JCW Pro in Germany is that it can be operated with a functioning flap, whereas the Remus can now only be operated with a deactivated flap (e.g. welding point).

  • Still more doubts .... especially the difference between JCW PRO and REMUS both with valve, in the videos it seems to sound much louder with the valve open the PRO and much more beautiful, also quieter with it closed ... I'm in much doubt, remus is € 1,200 with steel tails, PRO is € 1,750 without reprogramming or assembly (I could not do it because I will mount it myself so they do not accept reprogramming in bmw)

  • Unfortunately, nobody can really make this decision for you.

My experience with videos is that it depends a lot on how good the microphone of the camera is.
I myself have a system from Maxi-Tuner under my clubman and I don't really get the sound on the video.

Especially the deep bass tones are often swallowed.
