calipers are aluminium, so nice and light!
I didn't weight them before fitting, but I would say lighter than the stock Cooper S calipers.
Discs are heavy though as they are 335x30mm!!
Thats Right!
But BMW has released a new Wheel, a Year ago, and the Airbag is now round!
Do you know, which typ of the Airbag is in the Mini?
No I am not sure about the type of air bag in the MINI, but I have a spare Cooper S steering wheel in my loft if you want me to take some detailed pictures of the wheel with the air bag removed?
So do they now make a flat bottom version of the M Performance wheel [without the shift lights] that works with the new round airbag?
Good Morning @R99,
No, i will Use the the steering Wheel with the Shift light and also the Display on top.
My Friend is engineer at bmw. I hope he can help me
OK, sounds good!
I think I prefer it without the shift light, but please let us know if the air bag and multi function buttons for the wheel require any work to adapt to the F56!
I guess the F2x and F3x must have two different types of airbag, as your picture of the shift light version has a round airbag, and the picture I posted without the shift light has a different air bag?!
Please keep us updated, as I have also thought about this too!!
Are you going to use the one with the shift lights, or just the plain one like this:

It would seem that the fog light grille and also the brake grille has the same part number!!
No: 10 and 7 on the parts diagram share the same number - which is very strange!!!!!

There is obviously a problem, maybe your MINI dealer can confirm the correct part number for you?
That is VERY close - so with the 2mm spacer you are at 17x8 ET45. The same offset as mine, as I have 18x8 ET45.
Mine have more clearance than you, but not much at all still!
As for the part in the lower grille, I have this on mine. It does not come painted though - you will have to do that yourself:

I think it is part number:
but I could be wrong.....
Hi @ipf0935
I have not tried the coding - maybe it is possible - but I haven't felt the need to look into it as the brakes are very powerful! Maybe your MINI dealer can confirm?
The wheels look great, mine are 18x8 ET45 and they only just clear the brake calipers - your wheels must be very close!
Hi all,
I am seriously considering buying a set of R56 JCW Recaro Seats (the Sportster CS) as I love the alcantara and embroidered JCW logo...
Does anyone know what work may be involved - I am guessing the underside of the seats (mounting points) would be different to a set of 'normal' CS seats you could buy direct from Recaro?
Also, could the airbags be wired up, as I imagine the connections will be different between R56 and F56?
Would it just be easier to save the headache and buy direct from Recaro?
Thanks!!
Hi @ipf0935
I don't fully understand your question - are you referring to coding the brakes?
If so, I have not done this.
They work fine once installed. I'm not sure if MINI actually would code these brakes to the car with the retrofot parts??
Are your wheels 17"?
