No problem! It's all about pressure

Question; if the engine is different in the JCW than why is the engine code of the BMW 225i with 231hp (exactly the same hp as the JCW) also B48?
There is even a different code (B46) for the low CO2 emmision cooper S...?
I would expect a different engine code for the 225i/JCW if the enternals are different. Further more you would expect a 2.0T engine to make 230hp easily. Shouldn't need different parts. Also quite expensive/inefficient to make different hardware if you can achieve the same result with software.

If the F56 JCW is going to use the same engine as the 225 active tourer, look on RealOEM to see what the differences are between that than the stock B48 we have in the Cooper S
-
Grrrr partno. for the turbo and pistons are missing for the Active tourer....
-
B48 means only 4 cylinder Turbo. The correct name for the Cooper S is B48A20M0 and for the JCW engine B48B20O0!!
I've seen a Webpage which describes the nomenclature.
However, saying it's the same engine due to the same motor block is like saying a Mercedes A250 with 211 PS is the same engine as it is in the AMG 45 WITH 360 PS.

The part numbers from the 225i active tourer are here:
http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/searc…/F45/SAT/BMW+225i/ECE/11/
Acording to that, the turbo is the same, but the pistons are different.

Thanks R99,interesting link.
Where do you see that the turbo charger is the same? Can't find the data for the 220i

Last digits partnumbers:
cooper S
piston 502
turbo 636220i
piston 502
turbo 636225i
piston 503
turbo 637 -
The Turbo is the same in the 225i active tourer as the F56 Cooper S - but ONLY with the B46 engine, not the more common B48
Click this link.....
http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/searc…/BMW+225i/ECE/11/11_5815/
Then click the part number for the turbo and you can then select 'appliance' and it will show you its used in both the 225i AND the F56 Cooper S, but as I say, only the low emission version of the engine, the B46.....
