Genau, dort im Countryman kommt der Hybrid glaube ich zuerst.

Yet diesel isn’t the only alternative power option for the upcoming Clubman. There’s also the plugin hybrid Clubman we detailed earlier this year. We expect that this hybrid model to be released around the same time as the LCI is released which will be 2018.

Glaube ich auch nicht, man muss sich ja für den Lebenszyklus des Autos was übrig behalten. Schließlich legt man nicht immer gleich alle Karten auf den Tisch.

The Hybrid

At the heart of the new Hybrid Clubman will be the 1.5L three cylinder lifted from the F56 Cooper and powering the front wheels. Integrated into that will be a plug-in hybrid system (likely derived from the BMW i8) powering the rear wheels only. The beauty of that arrangement is the torque (which is abundant in electric motors) won’t overwhelm the front tires and instead will provide additional power in the most effective way – to the rear. Not only will power and torque be better distributed, but it will also allow for better weight distribution across the entire car.

The synchronous electric motor will likely have an electric-only range of around 15-20 miles. Obviously this would be ideal for urban environments.

The system that BMW has shown in concept form (and has been testing for years in R55 Clubman mules) has an output of “over” 140 kW/190 bhp. Doing the math backwards (and assuming MINI won’t detune the 134 hp Cooper 1.5L engine) we can expect the electric engine will have around 60 hp by itself.

Given these numbers (and adding the extra weight of the system) we’d expect 0-60 times in the low 7s. More importantly BMW has said it expects the system to achieve a fuel consumption of less than 2.5 litres per 100 kilometers (94 mpg, 113 mpg imp), with a CO2 emissions level of less than 60 g/km. Granted those figures will be altered for the US based on the EPA’s own measurement but they will still be similarly astounding in production form.

Ich könnte mir übrigens vorstellen, dass es den Hybrid nur mit 3-Zylinder geben wird.
1. mehr Platz für Aggregate
2. Addiert sich Elektro und Benzin, man braucht nicht so viel Drehmoment von einem großen Motor
3. Gewichtsersparnis: das größte Problem bei Hybrid und Elektro ist immer das immense Gewicht der Akkus. Da muss man Gewicht einsparen wo man kann.

Wer den Clubman ungetarnt gesehen hat, dem ist sicher die lange Tankklappe aufgefallen. .... Ein Schelm, wer da an den vorhandenen Platz für eine Elektro-Plugin-Dose neben dem Tankstutzen denkt

Aber bescheidene Frage: Ist das sicherheitstechnisch überhaupt denkbar, ein Funke könnte das Benzin-Luftgemisch am Tankstutzen sehr leicht entzünden ... denke ich...

Wirklich interessante Frage. So dicht daneben könnte das wirklich sehr problematisch sein.

This new hybrid system will appear first on BMW’s 2 Series Active Tourer. It uses a front-mounted turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine developing 134bhp and 162lb ft and a rear-mounted electric motor with 87bhp and 122lb ft. All up, it has a total system output of 216bhp and 209lb ft of torque.
In the 2 Series Active Tourer, drive is channelled from the combustion engine to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox. Aber die Technikbeschreibung ist schon ziemlich präzise und ausgereift. Das muss aber schon was wiegen, Automatikgetriebe vorne, die Akkus, 2-Gang-Getriebe für den elektrischen Hinterradtrieb ... sehr gespannt bin ich

Schade, aber irgendwie macht es auch Sinn, denn auch in der BMW Palette bekommen derzeit mehr die SUV die Technik.
