Tolles Video!

Happy End Geschichte made in USA...

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=583691"What a day......I'm still in shock and don't feel much like writing, or anything else. But yesterday was probably one of the worst (yet luckiest) days of our lives in our many years on this earth. My wife and I picked up our beautiful LE in a fantastic delivery experience.
Long story short, our brand new LE with 11 miles (!) on it was rear ended and most likely (hopefully) totaled less than a mile from our delivering dealer. My wife and I were happily driving home (at 25-30 mph in suburban traffic) and she had just snapped a pic of me at the wheel, when BAAAAM! we were rear ended out of the clear by a F150 pickup doing at least 50 mph or more. Then after that impact we were propelled onto a Mazda 3 sedan in front of us. BAAAAM again as I attempted to brake and FCW did work as far as I can tell. Both air bags deployed and seat belt tensioners worked.
I was in shock, rage, disbelief and panic as my wife after 1 or 2 seconds was sobbing and crying hysterically and couldn't, wouldn't get out of the car. I consoled her as pedestrians and 3 Jacksonville Sheriffs officers cars appeared immediately. She was so overwhelmed with disappointment for me and was so overwrought that our adventure was over in an instant. I spent the better part of 5-10 mins with her to settle her down and then the EMT's arrived and took over. She was put on a backboard and taken to hospital with unknown issues at this point. She was released last night and is on pain killers and muscle relaxers.
The car is at a wrecking yard, police report done (drug related DUI is suspected) and I am in total down mode. Yet, we have to be thankful the "higher powers" that be that we walked away from this. It is also a testament to Mazda and their design and engineering team that the car did what it should do in so many ways and we literally walked away from what could have been a fatal in just slightly different circumstances. 5000 lb F150, no brakes applied, closes on us at a 20-30 mph difference and punts us into a car in front of us at probably a 15-20 mph closing speed difference and we walk away! Amazing........
The car still runs, but that's about it. Trunk is jammed, fenders and body parts are in contact with the wheels, and the body gaps around the doors have shifted, but the doors both still open.
Anyway, that's my report on the extremely short life of our new LE. Not sure what's next, but the payment calculations started yesterday and our trade is already in dealer inventory. will talk to our insurance company tomorrow and take it from there.
Sorry for the downer report, but that's what it is. Will update as I get more details on what's next. Anybody know of a nice, new 6 speed LE for sale?? Here is a before pic. Can't figure out how to load more than one at a time. Will post more later."
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________"What a whirlwind these last 3 days have been for my wife and me! Our new LE was finally here and ready for pick up on Saturday, the 18th! Was trying to beat Mark out west and the time zones were working our favor, but I believe he got his a bit earlier. But we were right up there as one of the early owners in starting our new adventure with the ND.
Then, at around 4:00 PM or so, BAM. BAM, and our beautiful new LE was no more. We were shaken, Joanne took a ride with the EMT's to the hospital and I was left dazed, amazed, stressed, and what ever emotion one could experience. I also quickly realized that we were both still alive and functioning, thank you up there!!!
Sunday was depressing indeed, I went to the Care Spot facility to be checked out, and we were preparing for the worst of a long, contentious battle to get things right again, and minimize any additional hassles. Glad Sunday was over....
On Monday I spoke with my dealer, Tom Bush Mazda, and they were hopeful that things could be made right if a few things came together. By late yesterday, they had!!!
MNAO, at a pretty high level, and our dealer were able to work out a plan to separate our damaged LE from the opportunity to obtain a replacement in a timely and low (no) cost way. Our insurance provider, State Farm, and the F150's provider, Progressive were already working together to resolve the damaged LE quickly. Because the car was so new, and not yet in the "system" (no documentation had yet been submitted), I was able to separate from that LE legally. Whew!
Then, yesterday afternoon, I received 2 calls from MNAO informing me that my name was on a replacement LE 6MT that is in transit and will dock in Jacksonville around August 15. on to Tom Bush soon after that. Anyone know how to track a RORO vessel????? (Mark, are you out there?) haha.
So, if the Miata "gods" are listening, thank you. To the countless members of this community, thank you for your outpouring of support and understanding. And to my dealer, Tom Bush, and the good people and enthusiasts at MNAO, thank you.
Now its time to rejoin the discussion, share the enthusiasm, and start counting the days, again. It will still be fun!"
