Just when I thought I was all set for an intake...... I have found this

100% on the shopping list but not cheap at £500, however it is full carbon fibre.

I will... Of corse I have to know were this briliant spot is exactly.
Sorry for my bad english...
Bit of an update....
Sadly we had our house broken into and the Police suspect it was an attempt to try and steal the keys to the car. Thankfully I still have it. No more details on a public forum, for obvious reasons.
The better news is that I think I am going to bite the bullet and just buy a bloody intake!!! The ARMA one looks awesome, but it costs the earth and is STILL nowhere near release!!!
So I think I'm getting the GruppeM intake, just awaiting a price from Evolve.
unbelieveable Best wishes!
unbelieveable Best wishes!
also from my side...
Thanks guys
Thank you.
I am going to get the intake and possibly the JCW side skirts!
Update - decided to go ahead and order the GruppeM intake.
Evolve have got it on order from me and I will be making a day of it and heading down to them for a before and after dyno.
It will also give Evolve the chance to poke around the F56 - so everyone is happy!
Will update once its on the car.
Couple of pretty good updates for this thread....
On Monday I decided to order up the F56 JCW brake upgrade. This compromises of the following:
For the front:
2 x 4 piston Brembo calipers in red with JCW logo
2 x 335x30mm drilled and grooved discs
2 x sets of pads
2 x sensors
2 x backing plates
All mounting hardware
For the rear:
2 x rear calipers & carriers painted red (same as Cooper S, just red)
2 x rear plain discs (same as Cooper S)
2 x sets of pads
2 x sensors
All mounting hardware
and the callipers look like this! :cloud9:
I should get one of the 1st sets about, which will be great and I can't wait to see them on the car!!!
Today I took a trip down to Evolve Automotive in Luton for the fitting and testing of the GruppeM carbon fibre intake. This is their 'Super Cleaner' pod design which houses a K&N filter.
I got the car down to them for just before 11am and they set about doing some pulls on the dyno with the stock airbox where the car hit a peak of 202.6 bhp, not bad considering the only performance mod is the Remus valvetronic exhaust!!
Pleasantly surprised, they then swapped in the GruppeM air intake and over the same number of runs on the dyno the car hit a peak of 202.2 bhp with a 1 degree increase in IAT, again impressive considering the lack of direct cold air feed like the OEM system.
The biggest benefit for me about the GruppeM is this..... don't think it will get boring for a while!! :excited:
Dyno sheet for those who are interested:
The other pretty exciting news is that Evolve are very keen to be working on the F56, with some plans in the pipeline! While the car was there they took the chance to try one of their own in-house 'eventuri' carbon pods on the car. With the help of some rather cool 3D printing, the knocked up a MAF adapter and stuck one on the car. It made more than 2 bhp over the stock system, and again that was with no cold air feed like the OEM design. Also its worth pointing out that this was literally just a mockup so who knows what the gains will be once they play about with the pod size and add a cold air feed duct...... I will be keeping close to this and no doubt end up changing over to the Evolve kit at some stage!!!
